Black fly screens: protection and a view outside

Black mesh can be unobtrusive when looking outside. Visibility depends on more than colour: thread thickness, opening size and the overall mesh structure also matter.

Darker mesh does not necessarily obstruct more of the view.

A small sample on a table looks different from one held at a window. Do not dismiss black mesh just because it is dark. Manufacturers also use this colour for highly transparent mesh that barely interrupts the view.

View the sample from your usual distance while looking outside. This makes it easier to judge how noticeable the weave is and whether you like the overall effect.

Choose for everyday use too.

A kitchen window, balcony door and large passage may each need a different construction. Mesh colour does not determine whether a fixed frame, hinged door, roller or pleated screen will be most convenient.

If you have pets or want pollen protection, discuss these needs separately. Black mesh does not automatically provide these additional properties.

Key points: choose mesh according to the view, intended use and compatible system.

Compare samples at home.

During the consultation, compare the mesh and frame colours together. They are separate choices: the frame complements your window, while the mesh is selected for its appearance and function. Accurate measurements help ensure the whole product fits correctly.
