Pleated blinds

Blackout honeycomb fabric: darkness and thermal comfort

Honeycomb fabric contains internal air pockets. In blackout versions, the fabric blocks light; in some collections, an internal aluminium layer adds to its light-blocking and thermal properties.

More darkness for rest.

This fabric is useful in bedrooms, children's rooms or anywhere you rest during the day. The fabric itself blocks light, but gaps may remain around its edges. An opaque sample and a completely dark room are therefore not the same thing.

The operating cords can be concealed inside the honeycomb structure, avoiding points of light through cord holes in the visible fabric surface. This depends on the system selected.

Air pockets provide an extra layer of insulation.

Air inside the cells forms an additional insulating layer. Thermal performance depends on the fabric, coating, glazing and installation. The word “honeycomb” alone cannot tell you how much heating energy you will save or how much cooler the room will be.

Key points: consider light blocking, thermal properties and the fit at the window together.

A sample at your window helps you decide.

Discuss when light and sunshine bother you most. Your consultant will help compare samples with your interior and assess the mounting position and window opening. Accurate measuring also matters for convenient daily operation.
