Care

Fabric care: what can be wiped clean and what can be washed?

Care depends on a window covering fabric's composition, coating and the product's construction. Similar-looking fabrics may need different cleaning methods, so start with the specific material's care instructions.

01 / Care

Start with the fabric, not the cleaner.

Before choosing, ask whether damp wiping, hand washing or only dry dust removal is permitted. For a kitchen or frequently used room, this can be as important as the colour.

Keep the fabric code and care information. If a stain appears later, you will not have to rely on a general product name to decide how to treat it.

02 / Care

Hand washing is not machine washing.

Manufacturers allow some pleated fabrics to be hand-washed. This does not apply to every fabric or permit machine washing. Other instructions also matter, including water temperature, detergent, components and drying.

Key points: the general word “washable” does not replace precise care instructions.

03 / Care

The coating has a purpose too.

Reflective or otherwise treated surfaces may require particular care. An unsuitable cleaner or vigorous rubbing can change their appearance and properties. If the instructions are unclear, ask before cleaning.

Regular care using an approved method helps prevent dirt from building up. The right method matters more than the intensity of cleaning.

Can I clean a roller blind in the same way as a pleated blind?
