How to care for fly screens

Dust, pollen and insect remains collect on mesh. Regular, gentle care helps keep it clean. Choose the cleaning method according to the specific mesh and screen construction.

01 / Care

Clean mesh. A clearer view.

First, carefully remove loose dirt with a soft brush. Do not press or stretch the weave. Frames and guides in moving systems also need care according to their instructions.

Do not rush to dismantle the product. If the frame is removable, the installer should explain how to remove it; roller and pleated systems may have different requirements.

02 / Care

Water is not suitable for every cleaning method.

Use damp cleaning only as permitted by the specific mesh instructions. Clean the frame with a suitable soft cloth while protecting the mechanisms. A special coating does not justify using a stronger cleaner.

Key points: high-pressure water, steam, stiff brushes and vigorous rubbing are not substitutes for gentle care.

03 / Care

Pollen-filtering meshes have their own care instructions.

Some special meshes require rinsing and blotting without rubbing; others need a different method. Identify the mesh type before choosing a cleaning product.

If the mesh is torn or the mechanism sticks, cleaning may not solve the problem. Ask for an assessment of the product.

Frequently asked questions

Can mesh be washed in a washing machine?

We do not recommend this as a general cleaning method. Follow the product instructions.

Do I only need to clean the mesh itself?

No. The frame and moving system also need care.
