High-visibility fly screens: what determines clarity?

High-visibility mesh may differ from standard mesh in having finer threads and a different weave. A less noticeable surface makes looking outside more comfortable, but properties must be assessed for the specific product.

See the view, not the screen.

This option is useful if your window overlooks a garden, patio or another view you value. Compare not only small samples on their own but also how they look at the window.

Manufacturers offer fine-thread meshes designed for clearer views and improved airflow and light transmission. This is more than a colour choice.

Openness depends on the whole construction.

Larger openings alone are not a universal improvement. The intended insect protection must be maintained, so compare the threads, weave and manufacturer's stated purpose together.

Key points: “transparent” does not mean every mesh performs the same way.

Consider your other needs too.

Tell your consultant if a pet plays near the screen, the door is used frequently or you want pollen protection. Visibility may be just one of several selection criteria.

Accurate window measurements help establish which construction is compatible with the mesh you want. We will select the frame colour separately to complement your window.

Frequently asked questions

Is every black mesh a high-visibility mesh?

No. Colour and weaving technology are different things.

Do finer threads always mean a weaker mesh?

Thickness alone does not determine durability; the material and construction also matter.
