Fly screens

Stronger mesh for homes with pets

Manufacturers offer mesh designed for greater wear resistance in homes with pets. It is intended to withstand more mechanical stress, but it should not be treated as a barrier against falls.

A more resistant choice for curious paws.

If your cat or dog likes to approach the screen, standard mesh may not suit your use. Tell your consultant whether your pet touches or scratches it or leans against the door.

Reinforced mesh is only one part of the choice. The frame, fixings, closure and intended use of the complete system must also be considered.

One property does not replace another.

Stronger mesh may look different from very fine, high-visibility mesh. Compare samples at the window and decide what matters most to you.

Key points: resistance to claws does not mean unlimited resistance to tearing or jumping against the screen.

Safety needs a separate assessment.

A fly screen is not certified fall protection for a pet or child. If that protection is needed, choose a purpose-designed solution. Do not judge by mesh thickness or the word “reinforced” alone.

For everyday access to the patio, compatible pet flaps can be discussed separately. Availability depends on the specific door construction.

Frequently asked questions

Is this mesh impossible to tear?

Complete resistance to damage cannot be promised. How it is used and the product's limits matter.

Is replacing only the mesh enough?

A specialist must assess this: the existing frame and fixings need to be compatible.
