Wooden blind care: how to clean gently

Regular, gentle care is best for wooden blinds. A soft, dry cloth is usually enough to remove dust. Damp cleaning must follow the instructions for the specific material and finish.

01 / Care

Keep the beauty of wood for longer.

Lower the blinds and tilt the slats closed. Work from top to bottom, wiping gently along each slat. Tilt them the other way and repeat. Do not pull on the cords or ladders.

Light, regular cleaning is easier than trying to remove a long-standing build-up of dirt in one go.

02 / Care

Use moisture only as permitted for the finish.

If the instructions permit, gently wipe individual marks with a barely damp cloth. Let the slats dry completely before raising or tilting the blinds.

Do not soak or steam-clean wooden blinds. Excess water can change the shape of the slats, and unsuitable products can damage the finish.

Key points: a wood furniture cleaner is not automatically suitable for blinds.

03 / Care

Unsure about the material or finish? Ask first.

Your order details or material code will help identify the correct care method. If a mark does not come off easily, do not try several strong cleaners in succession. Ask for advice on the specific surface.
